Aña Monique is a true artist. She has an undeniable ability to capture uniqueness in an authentic, beautiful way. She sees things most people would never even imagine, and has a knack for bringing those things out of you. She doesn’t settle for “good enough” and, often times, her greatness comes from spur-of-the-moment inspiration.

In one shoot, somehow, she made me look badass, nerdy, intellectual and adorable. I never would have thought in one day we could capture my Rolling Stone spread, and the photo that will appear on my book sleeve, and the cover of a Paul Mitchell hair catalog (look for it in a salon near you!).

Here’s only a selection of her badass-ery.

A few shout outs (mainly because I want sponsors): Calvin Klein, H&M, Barton Perreira (glasses), Citizen (watch), and Caitlin Osman (hair). Oh, and also… Aña does hair and makeup like a wizard.
